Grab your crayons, Cleveland

The CLE Flag Project, a civic-minded group of flag enthusiasts have announced a contest to design a new flag for the city of Cleveland, Ohio.

Flag submission and contest rules can be found at the group’s website www.cleflag.org. The CLE Flag Project’s website includes guidance for basic flag design, including the seminal work Good Flag, Bad Flag by Ted Kaye and resources from the North American Vexillological Association (NAVA).

An analysis of the five rules of good flag design as they apply to the current Cleveland flag is available on this website’s flag design rules page, as are flag TED Talk videos from 99% Invisible podcast host Roman Mars and Flags for Good Founder Michael Green.

Please note, Cleveland Flag (this website) is not the same organization as the CLE Flag Project, but it does support its mission to create a new flag for the city of Cleveland. Cleveland Flag will be submitting its flag designs to the contest.

This in an exciting opportunity for the Greater Cleveland community to make a difference in our hometown.

Please direct all questions regarding the Cleveland flag design contest to the CLE Flag Project. Thank you.
